Foundation of Justice
The concept of justice
Justice is a term that has always been fascinating to me because of its nature of tending to take any form of definition depending on an individual’s situation. It is usually common for people who have never engaged in crime to define the term justice in any form. However, the term justice is more understood at an individual level when a person engages in any criminal activity. In my opinion, the term justice refers to the principle of according people that thing that they deserve based on factors such as religion, law, equity, rationality and ethics. Most people therefore understand the term justice in personal level when they are treated are treat others in an injustice manner. Foundation of Justice Essay Paper

What do you believe is a good foundation for justice?
Personally, I believe that the best foundation for justice revolves around the need, equity and equality. The reason is that in matters related to morality, the principles governing judicial independence are very important. These are the key foundations of justice in the current society where a high percentage of people do things with the aim of personal gains. Equity is a basic concept of the foundation of justice that emphasizes on an individual’s quality of being fair to all the people. Equality on the other hand is basic concept of foundation of justice that refers to a status where all people for instance in a country are provided an equal amount of resources by the government without favor. Equality helps all people to enjoy the equal opportunities, rights and status especially in a group of people or organization where leadership dictates (Mikalsen, 2017). Needs on the other hand refers to peoples’ requirements. It therefore implies that the needs should be equally distributed to all the people without favor for justice to hold. I therefore believe that justice always prevail when the three are tied together moreso when dealing with a large number of people.
What is Rawls’ foundation of justice and how does it relate to what justice means to you?
According to john Rawls, the beliefs concerning equal dignity, interdependence and social stability are the major aspects for the foundation of justice. In his theory, Rawls states that the stability of any given society or a group of people is based on the level at which the respective members feel they should be treated to achieve justice. If members reach to a point where they feel being treated in an injustice way, social unrest and disturbances develop due to the laid foundations. Rawls also describe his society as being united and wont allow any of their members to be treated in an injustice way by their institutions hence equality among all the members (Mikalsen, 2017). My definition and Rawls’ theory therefore conform since they emphasize on equal treatment of all members in a society or any other group of people.
What are the key features regarding global economic justice?
Global Economic justice constitutes of the moral principles used in structuring economic institutions where the aim is creating opportunities for all people. It is an issue that has attracted the attention of researchers from all the fields. Regarding the political field, there are two major issues that political philosophers have debated about. The liberal nationalism is the first domain where it has been pointed out that the key economic justice principle related to economic justice only concern people within a specific society (Mikalsen, 2017). The cosmopolitan is the second domain that views the principle justice as an economic justice that directly runs to all the people in the world and hence the need to equally share all the economic resources.
What do you believe are the most important issues within social justice currently and why are these important?
There are various important social justice issues. Racial discrimination is the first existing form of injustice. Despite major global organizations striving to offer equal opportunities to all individuals and according to their qualifications, racial discrimination still prevails. It is an injustice that has for long been experienced in the US and its results have been clearly observed in business, learning facilities and media among other social areas. Voting rights is also a social justice issue that still exists in most parts of US. All citizens should be offered equal opportunities to vote for their preferred leaders without being forced. The right to vote should therefore be accorded to every legal citizen where the issue is usually addressed by the National Association of Social Workers in the US.
