The implementation of a diabetes self-management education program involved various interprofessional members such as nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, podiatrists, and a certified diabetes educator. During this project, the main challenge was working and interacting effectively with healthcare professionals from extremely different professional backgrounds. For instance, some members would perceive project situations as per their professional backgrounds. Therefore, it was decided that each team member should explain their ideas and perspective using a language, terms, and examples understandable to other team members (Foronda et al., 2016). It was agreed that all team members should always share relevant information with other team members to facilitate the realization of the team goals.
