Core Values Description
My key principles as a leader include honesty, integrity, empathy, perseverance, and hard work, which all relate to the fact that I am a transformative leader. Transformational leadership inspires individuals to succeed and fosters a positive work environment (Choi et al., 2016). Because you stick to what you say, being honest builds trust among the people you lead. You also tell folks the truth about their skills and abilities and do not deceive them. Saying exactly what you think of someone without lying to them in order to appear accurate or pleasant is therefore an essential core principle for me. Next, having integrity means that as a leader, I can be trusted to keep confidential information private. As a result, integrity is defined as the ability to maintain confidentiality while also avoiding being easily violated. Empathy refers to a leader’s ability to put themselves in the shoes of those he or she leads. They will be capable of identifying a follower in distress and in need of assistance before it is too late. Many organizations have concerns with psychological safety and workplace violence, making this a critical core value for a leader to possess (Sfantou et al., 2017). Finally, the basic principle of perseverance aids me in truly understanding my followers as a leader. Working hard is, of course, what defines success in any effort.

A Personal Vision/ Mission Statement
My personal vision statement focuses on improving myself with the goal of helping others improve. This means that I will seek to gain knowledge through lifetime learning and will continue to hone my leadership abilities in order to effectively guide and achieve success with my followers. As a result, the vision statement is: To become the finest healthcare leader knowledgeable of meeting the demands of both the enterprise and the cohorts.
Clifton Strengths Assessment
Donald Clifton, an educational psychologist, created Clifton StrengthsFinder, a sort of personality diagnostic examination. It is based on the positive psychology notion and depicts who you are by showing what your actual behavior, feelings, and mental processes are (Gallup, n.d.; Freeburg, 2014). The detected strengths are referred to as “talents” (Fauske, 2018). The qualities or “talents” highlighted in my examination were “learner,” “developer,” “includer,” “intellection,” and “positivity” (Fauske, 2018; Freeburg, 2014; Gallup, n.d.). I aim to use these talents to improve as a person and a leader now that I am aware of them. Quite significantly, by enabling others, I plan to use these talents to assist others in attaining their objectives (Asiri et al., 2016).
Strengthening Behaviors and Having a Development Plan
Servant leadership and selflessness are two major behaviors that I would like to see improved. These are qualities that, as a nurse leader, are extremely beneficial in providing holistic care both directly and through delegation. They virtually always lead to the provision of high-quality care with the best possible outcomes for patients. I intend to pursue my own goal of obtaining a doctorate in nursing by enrolling in nursing school. I’ll also continue to look for and take advantage of any opportunities for ongoing professional development. In order to enhance on the two critical behaviors mentioned above, I will continue to use Watson’s Theory of Human Caring and Dorothea Orem’s Self-Care Deficit Theory (SCDT) in my work (Pajnkihar et al., 2017; Borji et al., 2017).
